What is a Throttle Body?
The valve that controls exactly how much air reaches the engine when you twist the throttle.

Twisting the throttle grip opens a butterfly valve inside the throttle body, letting more air into the engine — the ECU then adds the matching amount of fuel.
A simple analogy
“A tap for air — the more you open it, the more the engine can breathe, and the harder it can work.”
How it works
A cable or, on ride-by-wire bikes, a servo motor opens the throttle plate in response to your input. A sensor tracks its exact position and reports it to the ECU, which uses that reading to calculate fuelling and, on modern bikes, traction control intervention.
