Launch control takes over throttle and traction management during a standing start, letting the rider simply hold the throttle open while the system limits wheelspin and power delivery for maximum acceleration without drama.
How it works
With the system engaged and the bike stationary, holding the throttle fully open doesn't send full power straight away. Instead, the ECU ramps power in based on wheel speed, lean angle and gear, releasing it as fast as grip allows the moment the clutch is dropped.
Mostly found on sports bikes, it removes the skill, and risk, from a hard standing start — the system does in milliseconds what takes racers years of practice to feel by hand.
