TFT Colour Dashboard Explained

A full-colour digital display replacing traditional analogue dials, often reconfigurable by the rider.

In plain English

A TFT screen replaces or supplements analogue dials with a digital display capable of showing far more information — multiple layouts, trip data, ride mode status and navigation prompts — often switchable by the rider.

How it works

Sensors across the bike feed live data to the display's processor, which renders it as digital graphics rather than driving physical needles. Many let you cycle through different visual themes or information layouts via the switchgear.

What it feels like to use

Takes a little familiarisation versus a traditional dial, but once set up how you like it, having gear position, ride mode and trip data all in one glanceable screen is genuinely useful.

Worth knowing: Availability and exact behaviour vary a lot between manufacturers — always check your specific model's handbook.
