Side-stand indicator
The indicator usually reports that the stand is down; a disagreement or unexpected engine cut-out can indicate a switch fault.

Normal behaviour
The indicator normally confirms that the side stand is lowered. Many motorcycles stop the engine or prevent operation in gear while the stand is down.
Possible fault
If the indication does not match the stand position, the switch, wiring or stand mechanism may be sticking, damaged or misaligned. An intermittent switch can cause unexpected cutting-out.
What to do
Confirm the stand is fully raised before moving away. If the indication remains wrong or the engine cuts out unexpectedly, arrange inspection.

- •Dirt, corrosion or damage around the switch
- •Misaligned stand or switch
- •Connector or wiring problem
- •Excessive stand or pivot wear
When not to ride
Do not bypass the interlock. Do not ride if the engine cuts out unpredictably or the stand cannot be secured in its raised position.
