What is a Battery?

The battery supplies the burst of current needed to spin the starter motor, and keeps the lights, dash and ignition alive whenever the engine isn't charging it.

How it works
Chemical reactions inside the battery store electrical energy, released on demand through the terminals. The charging system replenishes what's used every time the engine runs. Batteries lose capacity with age, cold weather and long periods left unridden.
