What is an Electric Motor?
The single spinning unit that replaces the engine, gearbox and clutch on an electric motorcycle.

An electric motor converts electrical energy directly into rotational force, with no pistons, valves or combustion involved, and typically no multi-speed gearbox needed either, since electric motors deliver strong torque across a wide range of speeds.

How it works
Current from the battery, converted by the controller, energises coils inside the motor that create a rotating magnetic field. That field drags the motor's rotor around with it, generating torque that's sent straight to the rear wheel, usually via a simple chain or belt final drive rather than a full gearbox.
