Mounted either side of the handlebars, these levers translate a squeeze of your fingers into clutch disengagement on one side and front brake pressure on the other.

How it works
The clutch lever pulls a cable or pushes hydraulic fluid to disengage the clutch plates; the brake lever pushes fluid through the master cylinder to apply the front brake. Many levers now include adjustable span and, on higher-spec bikes, a folding pivot designed to bend rather than snap in a minor drop.
Signs of trouble
